Keeping our youth on the right track!
The RYS program is a early intervention and prevention initiative where behavior is monitored and evaluated through assessments and student performance data. C.W.W.C. takes a look at all facets of the individuals life including grades, academics, social interactions, family and family obligations and demographic areas. The 10 Core Life Skills taught are:
Self-Awareness.........................morals, values, likes and dislikes, knowing your limit
Coping with Emotions.............responding positively to negative emotions
Creative Thinking.....................generating new and original ideas
Interpersonal Relationships.....positive interaction with family and others
Decision Making.......................identify the alternatives and make the right choice
Empathy....................................putting oneself in the other's shoes
Effective Communication........the ability to express oneself positively at all times
Coping with Stress...................knowing your triggers to better control your feelings
Critical Thinking.......................the ability to think rationally in any situation
Problem Solving......................crucial to preventing stress from unexpected situations
The RYS program does not conquer the challenges and demands of everyday life. What is does is keeps a perspective, the true measure of importance in conducting oneself in a positive manner even when disappointment or failure comes into play. The RYS program allows individuals to see that there is a negative side and a positive to every situation and all problems are managable.
